YHVH is vain and inattentive to the point of letting his angels fuck up humanity (SMT1, SMT2), and then lacking enough perspective to think saving a handful and wiping out the rest is okay (SMT2), again by original myth despite a promise not to do so again in said myth (the ark), so he also is either forgetful or doesn't honor promises. If I recall, even Gabriel urges Aleph to stop him at that point, if he's Law.

Lucifer is a manipulative, destructive being who would do anything to have a chance at defeating his enemy, even to the point of destroying the entire multiverse and bringing time itself to a halt (Nocturne), killing the humans he seems to care so much about (SMT2). Not So Different, anyone?

I thought in SMT2 it was his fellow demons that Lucifer cared about?

I always thought it was both. But you could be right, the concern for humanity could have been a facade to lure Aleph in.

I'm pretty sure from the LP that it was the demons living in Makai with him that Lucifer wanted to help out by freeing them from the darkness God had so generously kicked them out to live in, but, his words could be alignment dependant...

To be fair, Law in SMT2 is more Gabriel's side than YHVH's, but still. Overall, Law means siding with the guy, so I'm staying well away from it.

The only problem with neutral forever is that SMT1+2 both taught me to say no to everyone in everything, and now in other SMT games I need to say yes to SOMEONE and all of my instincts are going 'no no no!' XD;;;
